 Kittanning Little League Code of Conduct: 

In order to advance the principals of sportsmanship and fair play and promote mutual respect among players, coaches, umpires and spectators the Kittanning Little League has established this Code of Conduct.

This Code of Conduct shall govern the actions of players, coaches and spectators. It is intended to provide behavioral guidance and establish clear expectations and penalties for all involved. The Code was not conceived to address every possible circumstance; however, it shall serve as the organizations standard for behavioral evaluations.

It is the obligation of ALL members, spectators, and volunteers to comply with the terms and provisions of the Code of Conduct. Any person violating the Code shall be subject to administrative action, of the Board of Directors, up to and including termination of his/her privileges to participate in, or attend any or all KLL sponsored activities.


Coaches shall remain unconditionally supportive of KLL’s commitment to the ideals of good sportsmanship, team play, honesty, loyalty, courage and respect for authority. Likewise, coaches shall remain sensitive to the physical and emotional well being of the players on his/her team. Remember that you are dealing with children first and foremost. They are ball players secondarily.

In order to adhere to these doctrines the coaches agree to the following:

• Coaches will be positive role models.
• Coaches will display and instill in their players the principals of good sportsmanship and team play.
• Coaches will conduct themselves in a manner that best serves the interests of the entire team and players.
• Coaches will ensure that winning and/or losing teams do so in a manner that exhibits respect and good sportsmanship.
• Coaches will treat all players, parents, spectators, opposing coaches, umpires, and league officials with respect.
• Coaches will provide instruction in a manner that in constructive and supportive.
• Coaches will not ridicule or demean players, other coaches or umpires. Swearing, cursing or name-calling will be cause for immediate disciplinary action. NO EXCEPTATIONS!!
• Coaches will not tolerate behavior that endangers the health or well-being of a child.
• If a child needs counseled on his/her play it should be done privately, not in front of other teammates.
• Coaches will comply with the decisions of league officials and observe all rules, policy, and procedure as established by the KLL.
• Coaches will be alcohol, drug and tobacco free at all times on or near the field.
• Coaches acknowledge the need to demonstrate fundamental knowledge of the game and maintain a minimum degree of proficiency in first aid. All coaches agree to attend any skill/training sessions that may be mandated by the Board of KLL.


Players Shall…

- Display good sportsmanship and team play at all times.
- Follow the direction of the coaching staff.
- Respect all coaches, players, league officials, umpires and spectators.
- Make every attempt to be on time and ready to play for all games and practices.

Players Shall NOT…

- Use abusive of profane language.
- Taunt or humiliate any other player.
- Purposefully injure, or attempt to harm, any other player or coach.
- Question an umpire’s call.
- Be disrespectful to their coaches.
- Abuse, mistreat or mishandle any KLL equipment or property (e.g. throwing batting helmets, bats, balls, etc.)


The parents/spectators shall support the players, coaches, umpires and league officials. Spectators shall not “coach” or “officiate” from the stands or fence areas. Spectators agree to the following by:

• Acting as positive role models
• Displaying and instill in players, the principals of good sportsmanship and team play.
• Conducting themselves in a manner that best serves the interest of the players.
• Working to provide players with a positive experience.
• Making certain their children show respect for all other players, coaches, officials and spectators.
• Refraining from ridiculing, taunting, humiliating or demeaning players, coaches, umpires and league officials.
• Informing the coach of any injury/ailment that may affect the safety of a child.
• Respectfully treat all players, coaches and umpires.
• Complying with decisions made by league officials and observe all rules, policies and procedures established by the KLL Board of Directors. Provisions are in place, at the board level, for spectators to air any grievances.
• Not questioning an umpires call.


Physical abuse of any official, coach, umpire, player or spectator will result in immediate expulsion from any KLL field or function by any umpire or KLL Board Member. The offender may not return until the board approves his/her return.
Continued verbal abuse by anyone will not be tolerated. Repeated verbal abuse, use of profanity or name-calling will be dealt with in the same manner as the physical abuse policy documented above.

Acknowledgement of Code of Conduct:

We, the undersigned have read the KLL code of conduct and agree to abide by its provisions. We furthermore agree to any decision made by the KLL Board of Directors in regard to enforcing this code of conduct, which may or may not include one of any combination of the following administrative action(s):

• Verbal and/or written warning
• Removal from one’s volunteer position
• Letter of reprimand
• Suspension from complex
• Removal from complex
• Criminal charges

Montebell Field Parking Policy:
There is ample parking in the Belmont Complex parking lot and in the gravel parking area below the field.
Those permitted to park on top will be:
1.  Handicapped drivers who ve themselves.  (If you are dropping off handicaped persons please return your vehicle to an approved parking area.  After the game you may drive up the hill to pick them up.)
2. Anyone who parks at the top of the hill adjacent to the baseball fields will be parking at their own risk.  Kittanning Little League is not liable for any damage to unauthorized vehicles due to foul ball damage that may occur.
3. All vehicles that are parked at the top of the hill MUST display a handicapped tag in the window or on the license plate.
4. All other vehicles that are parked at the top of the hill are parking at THEIR OWN RISK.  An announcement will be made before each game to move any unauthorized vehicles to the lower lot or the Belmont Complex parking lot.
Please do not drive up the hill to drop your children off for practice of games.  Please drop them off below the concession stand and have them walk up the road.  Constant traffic going up and down the driveway is a dangerous situation for many of small children who attend the games.
